What are the consequences for terminating lease purchase contracts?

As being one of few who has successfully done this, would you say timing of the market highs helped you?

If so, definitely something for newcomers to watch out for, with markets plummeting now.

 

Me personally i dont think it did very much , but maybe a little. because i only ran the spot market at 2019 when rates werent like they were in 2020 or 2021..i was running all direct freight at that time and maybe 1 or 2 spot market loads when i had to do a one off load for our customers that went to an unfamiliar area... But you are right , id hate to be trying to make that lease purchase work right now, just with the price of fuel itself

 

My comment wasn't meant to be a knock at your success, but I was curious.

IMO, one person succeeds most of the time, while the majority fail. I'm talking life in general, not just trucking. I think attitude and work ethic are the biggest factors.

Instead of the "what COULD i do?" crowd (most of the population), there's another "what can i do" group.

The first group defensive, the second offensive.

No worries man i didnt take that as criticism at all. i 100% get what ur saying and appreciate you bringing it up because its important for anybody getting into lease purchase to think about where the market is at right now.

It would definately be much harder to do it now , but i think if i were to jump into it now like i did in 2019.. Im confident I wouldve still made it work, only because i made it my life and was determined to be successful with it. i had a plan to start with LP and go to o/op then onto my own authority. It was my own way to get into what im doing now and im glad i did it because ive learned so much along the way

You know as well as i do that most of this business is just ur mindset around it and how determined you are to succeed...
