Any ideas about what fuel mileage I could expect with a DD16, 13spd and 3:42 rears in a 4900EX pulling a van and averaging around 50k on gross weight?? I get around 6.2, 6.3 now with the same setup, except series 60 motor instead of DD16. If I could get an additional 1mpg with the DD16 I think my decision will be made for me.....thoughts?

This Columbia I bought new, within a year the dash was broken to hell and squeaks on every bump, the 91 pete I parked at over 2 million miles had less rattles when I parked it than this truck did after a month of use. And now the passenger door opens if I roll the window down. Been meaning to tear the door apart and find out wtf came loose, probably the window regulator rivets rusted out. All that being said, it's tough to find a smarter truck purchase for a first time buyer.

What year is that 60 series? If it's Pre egr there is no reason you shouldn't be pulling in the low 7's with those light weights. I've gotten mine up to the mid 7's.

I would say another 1mpg is easily obtained with the DD motor vs a EGR S60.

Dont know what to tell you. With the Heritage interior, it was very quiet, with no "Freightshaker" behavior at all. Same for my my old 2000 also

Ron is running a DD16 with 7 or 8 axles, and getting great MPG considering.
