The Petro in Girard Ohio near I-80 Exit 226 & Salt Spring Road is a great stop. Iron Skillet food is great. Get the breakfast suasage and gravy platter, it rocks. Plenty of parking IdleAire and it looked like security in the lot. There is a truck wash just accross the street along with a TA for those of you who like TA just up the road a click.
you might love it noww but wait it will all start tasting the same very shortly. heck i have t/a , the flying hook, and petros menu memorized.
worst for me ta in binghampton ny or ta in jacksonville fl.I thought I heard petro bought ta hope they did I avoid them at all cost.my favorites are kenly nc.best food is a independent truck stop in jane lew west virginia off ex105 on 79 like that place anyone ever been there?
T/A bought Petro, but Petro is supposed to be run still as "Petro". Worse truckstop - for me, any truckstop in west memphis. I absolutely hate that area, and will drive illegally before I will stay in that craphole.
I remember there bieng a truck stop "if you want to call it that" next to Baltimore,MD That was a real dump back about in 93 or so. I remember bieng told by one of our old timers at North Star Transport in St Paul,MN that was the king of the worst. Unfortunatly I had to stop there one night and It made gary,IN look like the hilton. Creepy as heck but cant remember the name though..
That's a no crapper!! notice he is listed as a student!! The petro was god when it first started. There restaurant was top notch in my book and I'm picky. I havn't had a good meal in a petro in over a year now so I stoped trying recently. the menu is EXACTLY the same as it was 13 yr's ago when I started drving at petro. but the food has gone downhill badly. I give credit to flying j which I hate to say as I used to hate them. But they have changed there menu recently and they have actually started to get really good(the bigger ones anyways) they used to be the bottom of the barrell for food. Same with TA, I have noticed them getting better too. I think these places are starting to realize that if they are going to have a sit down restaurant then it needs to be good. If it's not good then we will grab a Burger at McD's and get on down the road. The only way they can compete with the "big truck convienience stores" is to offer soemthing they dont.... a good restaurant. And we are tired of being fed like they are sloping the hogs
