they have done quite alot of improvements on the ta in southington. They have doubled the size of the parking area and are putting additions on the building. Getting out is still a little tricky but maybe they can fix that too. I was stuck there
during a storm last winter and always avoided it before but I was quite supprized at and happy at the changes they are makeing.

my favorites are the ams best in mt vernon Ill and there is a ta on 80 at exit 120 I believe in ill. TA just took it over it was a private stop but huge parking lot great food and nice staff. And it is just a great place. Well the fuel island sucks but everything else is just great. Iowa 80 is ok I personally park across the street at Grandmas resteraunt and take a shower at the pilot there and eat at grandmas great food. Bosslemans in grand Island is another good one . The worste to me are the pilot in dallas very scarey never go there. The ta in jessup I would rather sleep on the street. And lets not forget the flying j up by seattle just off I5 you can get in there but you cant get out.

Ok, I found two more good ones in my recent travels...

Petro- I88 and I39 in Rochelle Ill. I had to ask if the place was new because I haven't seen such a nice petro before.
Flying J- I44, Sullivan Mo. They had live Country Music in there and the place is immaculate with nice sized parking lot.

The petro in Rochelle Il, at I88 and I39 is great, large lot, clean shower, and good food.

The two bosselmans I have stoped at, Altoona, Ia, and grand Island NE, were both clean, good food, and plenty of tvs or movies to pick from.

Well, in my long holiday weekend, I was given a load that shipped from Pueblo Colorado last Wed and didn't have to be in Michigan til this past Monday. Sooo, I had plenty of time and a fat check to go along with it. I must say, for having a Pilot fuel island, the Bosslemans T/S's are great! If you are in Grand Island, go see Jill....she is a waitress there and she is awesome and takes care of her customers. I sat there for four hours b/sing and my cup was never empty.

Here are some more good ones...

Rocky Mountain Travel Plaza- Pueblo Colorado
    Bosselmans- Big Springs Nebraske
    Bosselmans- Grand Island Nebraska
(Not a truck stop, but they took care of me...LOL) Silver Slipper Saloon, Interstate 80, exit 93 in Ottawa Illinois.....

Do any of you "old timers" remember Gill Main's Truck City? Off of I94 and Wyoming exit in Detroit. I started pumping fuel there in the late 60's.

Good service in restaurant at Johnson's Corner. I saw the large cinnamon roll, but we didn't order for next morning. Looked delicious. There's a jacuzzi in the handicap shower room. It was tempting but i think I'll pass. :biggrin_25520:

I like Jubitz in Portland. The restraunt is pricey but it so nice to go watch a movie in the theater there and relax.
