What are the safest and most dangerous truckstops??

Gary TA is very well lighted,never had a problem there.Steel City has been bought by petro and is under construction.

 

and full of drug sellers, and lot lizards, and the "security" parties with them.

 

The Davis Travel Plaza on i85 in VA is probably one of my favorite places to stay. Always lots of parking available and plenty of room to maneuver around into a parking spot. Clean restrooms, showers, parking lot, etc.

Im not a big fan of the GO Mart in Charleston WV, all of the Go Mart's have a dirty feeling to them, and that one is the worst! Lots of prostitutes and general scum walking around.

I have always heard a lot of negative talk about the TA in Gary but I have never felt unsafe there.

 

Brintle's Truck Stop on I77 in Mt. Airy NC is like stepping back in time. Safe, clean........just a really NICE place.

 

And a pretty decent restaurant!

 

I don't think we ate there, did not use the showers, looked somewhat ok. Just needed to use the scale was all.

 

They also have a lot of the Mayberry type stuff to buy, recipe books, etc.

Late at night, food so-so.

 

Dan's in Hattiesburg (south 49) has been there for years under different names, it was Hamilton's about 30yrs ago.

They had an awesome open faces roast beef with gravy and mashed potatoes. The way truckstops use to be.

how about west memphis, arkansas that is the skankiest in my opinion.....the best truck stop as far as food goes is the oasis in missouri at exit 145 but that aint cuz im from missouri by any means....goooood foooood
