Ya know... it's been amazing in my time. I had a holstered buck special blade next to the chain wallet for years in NYC and other places for work purposes around all sorts of police and no one cared. Imagine that.
Now we carried a blade or two in the truck going into Canada for purpose of work in the tool box and not on myself so Customs was not a problem. Usually did not bother to look into our cab because we were pre-cleared to enter.
Alcohol containing products is a no no. Your mouthwash, your nightquil sleep aid, the purple one especially. Vanilla French Coffee might be made with alcohol or similar compounds at the truckstop, there is no way of knowing. We got on a VFCoffee kick for a few months one winter in the Sheridan WY area as a comfort food but noticed mistakes being made in decision making and driving as if there was a little bit of impairment. We stopped that habit.
I know you said no gun talk. Im ok with that. Except one thing. IF you have a permit for that weapon it's going to be taken inside the scale house and held until the inspection is over and then given back to you. AS LONG you are not arrested or whatever else that complicates the day.
I know you mentioned company no nos. Read them again. Then disobey half of them. To me I was prey going into predators den in the USA with nothing at all sometimes. It was ridiculous. Never again. Ive gone the way of the sheepdog. I treat the Police as brothers.
Now...
Here is one thing I should explain. We came out of a small rest area called Midway on the PA Pike. We just looted the place with Sbarro Pizza, pastries in a box, coffee by the jug and a host of other goodies prior to doing battle with NYC later that evening. Police man steps into my travel lane and faces me down at 80 mph for a inspection right then and there. He wants papers. So I offered him coffee, hold this cup, pours, hold the box of doughnuts, move the pizza box off dog house etc move other food find paper work, pass it to officer a sheet at a time while moving food back from officer to the doghouse and dash.
It was a farce. I passed the inspection and I imagine it was a good lunch but I wont be doing that again. LOL.
You really wanna get arrested? Mouth off and lose your temper to ANY small town (As in less than 5000 people) to the Police Chief standing on your fuel tank. That will usually buy you some time in the jail. I never got tossed like that yet. But one in particular yelled at me dont you know what RED means boy? Red? Huh That's basic education for people not familiar with America. Well.. that did not go over very well. I was in a very bad mood due to a destruction of a curb trying to stuff a 48 foot covered wagon into a parking lot clearly not made for one.
That mouth will get you into trouble faster than any kind of contrabrand you will ever have in your truck.
One final thing and thought for you. IF you go to the Rio Grande, Land of the Dead or the Gila Lands along the Mexican Border you must without fail ensure eyes on your entire rig at all times. No one gets into the top of your cab under the air dam no one hides dope in your 5th wheel (That is one reason dogs sniff it at Customs ...) and no one gets inside the truck or trailer without your say so.
Having unauthorized people inside your cab trying to get out of Canada will cause some trouble. They account for every soul that passes through. Wife was with me always but they would check her carefully as well as the empty trailer for bodies.
As it was we had a pretty boring time when it comes to having stuff in the cab. And that's about it.Ooops, WitchingHour, Friday and 1 other person Thank this. -

I have a Lord of the Rings replica sword - Sting.
It is one of the rare ones made of Toledo spring steel.
Would it be legal to have that on the truck?
Or I could mount my Henry .44 rifle within easy reach. -
No Mexicanos in the trailer.
