i just went out and bought a nice pair of redwings. i have had my fill of the el-cheapo walmart trash. replacing them every 3-4 months and spending that 3-4 months with wet feet because they never seem to actually be water resistant. the redwings seem to be well made, they are a USA made pair and i paid $225. they can also have new soles fitted for $100. im hoping to get a couple of year out of them. i know most drivers arent going to have to contend with walking in the mud like i do. some of those farm driveways are just downright nasty.
question, where do i buy a good USA made coat something that will keep me warm and has good durability. i got a new jacket for christmass and the thing has already ripped at the seams. i cannot believe how cheaply and poorly made allot clothing is these days. horribly made junk and made with cheap overseas labor. im willing to pay a price premium for quality clothing that wont fall to pieces.
what are you other drivers wearing for boots?

i still have my red wings, since november of 2005. had them resoled 3 times, had the eyelets all changed out (they were causing my laces to get cut)
they do not have this style anymore. #1422Oldironfan and Badmon Thank this. -
Most Carhartt clothing is very wearable and durable, including their heavy coats
Tractor Supply and Cabellas and others carry varying lines of Carhartt stuffstwik, Lepton1, BUMBACLADWAR and 2 others Thank this. -
i got style #415 dynaforce. i hope i get that long out of them, that sure is a long run. so far after a lifetime of cheap crap im very happy with them. they have the waterproof membrane so they dont leak. i can stand and have stood in 3 inches of nasty mud and still have dry feet.

As far as American made boots go. Are you looking for something like this?
These are rated for up to 18 inches of mud/snow depth, and you can stay in your running shorts.

I wear Ariat Sierra waterproof steel toes. They run $160, I just had them re-soled for $90 locally. They are comfortable and keep my feet warm in the winter. I was shin deep in mud and water today and my feet stayed dry.
As far as pants, Carhartts are great or Tractor Supply carries Schmidt work pants. They run $25 a pair and last a while, and I am rough on them. Here are the bootsAttached Files:
