Don't worry about that head on. You do what you need to do to save lives first and second make #### sure all of your wheels are inside YOUR lane prior to impact. If you are not speeding and everything is within safe limits such as not being aggressive etc you will probably have a future.
I avoided more head ons than I can count, several in particular was too #### close one was warned by radio with my number one giving me time to change lanes and evade. I do not like them. But Im not afraid of them. The engine is a equal to a car by weight and there is that frame it will have to go through.
Head on does matter if you haul suicide steel coil for example with not enough chain on them. A mother trying to hold a baby at 30 pounds will probably find the baby weighing *Pulls figure out of hat... some where above 500 pounds at impact. What do you think a Coil weighing 12,000 is gonna weigh at impact hmm? That is death or worse for you.
I say I was not afraid of head ons. But I did always worry whenever I suicide load something. Figures what I don't see behind me in the trailer will be a problem. Same with hazmat. 48,000 pounds of corrosive ready to dissolve flesh no thanks. (I hauled two loads later in my trucking years and decided it's not worth the risk, allowed my Hazmat to go away. But to this day I try to keep current no matter what.)
What are your greatest fears?

Chesapeake bay bridge yikes I hate that one.
Annapolis Md. Admittedly it has incredible views -
Mostly afraid that trucking has soured my chances of getting a "normal" job, where I could own property and have a family.
I can't sit still anymore. Even when I am home for more than a few days I start itching to get back on the road. I sleep better in the truck than at home.
I use the F word like commas and my BS threshold has virtually disappeared. I'm not sure I'll be suitable for jobs that involve human interactions. -

You sound like a military veteran.

Reoccurring dream that the news has stated that anyone eating a meat pie from Flying J is turning into a zombie. The zombies are in pain and the only thing that will ease it is to eat brains. I can hear them outside my truck. Brains, brains, braaaaaains.
Oh, and stated above. ClownsDave_in_AZ Thanks this. -
Those spiders usually are upside down on the commode seat.Dave_in_AZ Thanks this.
