For those debating the synthetic vs conventional thing, I recently posted this on another thread. Just an FYI.

I ran the Delo 5w40 synthetic for the winter, for two oil changes, and just changed oil and went back to Delo 15w40. Have ran extensive oil analysis samples since I got the truck. I saw no difference in oil samples on synthetic or dino Delo. Fuel mileage was a no change also. The only advantage to the synthetic was a little easier starting on a very cold morning after a break without having truck plugged in. At home plugged in, no difference. So.... no need to continue using the synthetic if there is no real benefit. Going to stay with the 15w40 Delo. The wear numbers, TBN retention, and all the other things you look for on oil samples was almost identical whether on standard Delo or the synthetic. But that was my engine. Someone else may get different results. Was using bypass filter on both oils also.

**I run what ever is cheapest between Delo 400 or Delvac 1300. Often I find huge mailin rebate offers. I change oil and all other filters every 12,000 miles.
