Go to DAT Onboarding and open a new account. After you open your account, do a Google search for Freight brokers with DAT Onboarding. Go to that broker's Onboarding link. After you enter your Motor Carrier information, the website will do a pre-qualification check. If they accept new carriers, the website will tell you if your company is qualified or not. A few agencies I have worked with wanted you to have 120-180 days before they approved you. This reduces time filling out broker carrier packets. As far as "trusted" goes, you can't trust any of them :)
