Green newbie here.
Will be running from Ontario to different points in the USA. Out 5-8 days per trip.
Question is, what kind of foods can I pack for my trip? I like to avoid fast food and eat fruits/veggies as snacks.
I want to be 100% legit at the land crossing and want zero heat with the boarder patrol.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
What can I bring across the US border?

No citrus fruit, tomatoes, or peppers. That's all I can think of right now. Check the Customs website.

Here's the Customs information that tells you about what food you can and can't brinb across.

The important thing to do is declare what food you have. The most they'll do is take it away. Ask them which fruits and vegetables you can't bring across because their website isn't easy to use.

Coming back into Canada I always had my receipts stapled together for any items I had to declare that I purchased (tools, repairs, Knick-knacks).
Sometimes I was over on the amounts, usually they just stamped it and away I went. Worse case you pay GST.BigDaddyCool99 Thanks this. -
Citrus, avocados , raw nuts(roasted are allowed) are not allowed, few years ago i had some peaches and nectarines Ontario grown , in Detroit they asked me to throw them in garbage bin.
