I know this is very basic science here. I'm just trying to visualize an air wake. It happens before they pass me, you feel the pull to the opposite side and you know someone is passing you. So if it happens before they pass it means its disturbing your trucks wake, but you would think the pull would be towards them not away. Is there a name for this? Thanks
What causes wind push from a truck passing you?

it happens with planes as it does to trucks.. -
Wind?!
You answered your own question.... -
To be more precise....when wind is sped up...the pressure is lowered...same as on a plane....so once you get beyond the pressure wave on the front (like the one dolphins ride on infront of boats) you get that sucked in feeling....then at the backed....you get into the disturbed airflow area...and you get the big buffets, like when you are too close.
-
Bow wave... just like you see from a boat.
-
The air behaves very much like water, cept you can't see it(turbulence is just a plane flying thru waves like a boat on a rough lake)...The truck displaces air as a passing boat would...
-
Sometimes I have wind turbulence inside the truck. What causes that?

Panhandle flash and Freebird135 Thank this.

your truck enters the airspace in front of it. the air moves around the front of the truck and is compacted with the existing air on the side of the truck.
then another truck comes along and displaces that compressed air on the side of your truck. This compressed the air even more between the two truckss and pushes your truck away from the other...
The same way it gets so much more windy when the wind is funneled between buildings in cities.
