I understand the LTL thing my husband was a teamster driver for almost 30 yrs and my background is also LTL as well as TL. I hate seeing this happen to two fine companies, but we won't rehash that again. Let us all know what happens, you'll know Monday. Also, you'll have to hurry and get to 50 posts so you can PM on here. Gosh we don't want everyone on here to know where we're meeting for coffee or they'll all be there. LMAO.
BTW where is there a diner in Spfld?

It seems to be luck of the draw and company preference right now. Tinman was qualified for the Watkins Sheppard school and got turned down at the last minute: we figured the only thing he had negative on him was some low credit. (I wonder how many people's credit went into the hopper these last two months?)
I got selected probably due to past experience, perfect credit (so far), and I sit here worrying if my old pacemaker might cause me to be rejected. They are all being very particular right now, and the silliest thing could cause them to pass over you, even if you're legal to drive.
Doom, Gloom, in tha room; shame on me. I gotta keep thinking more positive. After all, in '88 I WAS the very best trucker in the nation...

luvtheroad yes I should know on Mon. The conference call begins at 10:00 a.m. e.s.t. and is estimated to be over at 03:00 a.m. on Tues. so it will be a very long day to say the least because everyone involved has to be front and center until your name is called. Is your husband still trucking? My wife and I dream of the day our kids"boy 13, girl 10" are grown and gone so that she can join me in the truck to see and enjoy some of the things I have told her about over the years. The name of the diner is "Collier's Restaurant". It is behind the mall. Ask anyone in town how to get there and you will have no trouble finding it. I am working very hard on getting my 50 posts so that I can pm you and there is a lot of drivers at Superior Carriers I wish to contact as well. If I choose not to transfer tomorrow I plan to go to work at a co. called Carry Transit which is owned by Superior.

The very best of luck to you. Let's all hope you are chosen to stay and if you are transfered that they stay afloat. The Carry Trans sounds good too.
I was trying to think of the place I ate in Spfld that was in a little shopping area, if it's Colliers it's certainly not what I consider a "diner" I called my buddy at Crete and he can't remember the name either LOL that's old age for ya. Stay in touch and let me know what happens. I'll keep my fingers crossed.:biggrin_25525::biggrin_25525:

The credit thing is going to be an issue for a lot of people. You know that phrase about bad things happening to nice people... Sometimes the credit issue is something people have no control over and of course sometimes it is. The reason that companies are concerned over credit is cargo and equipment theft. Insurance companies have a lot to say about people with bad or questionable credit. Did you know that your insurance can be raised if you have credit that's questionable? True. Everyone should watch their credit rating.

You are speaking truth about credit being low and insurance being high. Due to a sinking economy my credit score went from perfect to ultimate crap. My Insurance premiums have doubled. It's almost like as if Im 18 again with Points!

Yup, I know all about it... Right now I am debt free and couldn't finance a candy bar. I own everything I have, no payments of any kind. It will take me a long time to get things right again as far as a decent credit rating.
Also, please believe me when I tell you that whatever state you live in can put things on your credit report, such as liens. A friend of mine had a small business and had problems with sales tax payments, actually not the paying but the paperwork so they fined her and put liens on her credit report. From what she is being told by credit people those don't go away even when they are all paid up. Everyone should check their credit report on a regular basis.
Look for us on the street as old bag ladies LOL:biggrin_25525:

For those of you that are still interested I took part in the nationwide transfer with Big R / Yellow on Monday. It started at 10:00 a.m. and they finally got to me at 10:00 p.m. When they got to me there was no where south of I-80 to go to. I took the best oppurtunity I had which was Iron Mountain, MI. Look that one up on your maps. I have to report to work on March 1st. Not much time but I am able to keep a good job. My kids will be out of school the last week of May and I will come back home then and meet the moving co. and we will all go back up there together as a family and learn how to drive a snowmobile. LOL!!! I called Carry Transit and spoke with the T.M. and he was very understanding which reminds me of what a good co. I had planned to work for. Wish me luck everyone because I would be lieing if I said I was not nervous. I think it will be a very big coulture shock for us up there.
