If you have your own rig, the question comes to "what kind of loads do you want to haul?" Flatbed, reefer, dry van, tanker, RGN... The type of trailer dictates the company to contract with. If you know what you want to haul, send me a note with the type of trailer and I can give you a few companies to check out. I live in the mid-west also.

Mercer is a great carrier for flatbed. Don't really know much about the dry van side.
