Also, would it be easier to get into siad program with my CDL that i would get from a school i can go to cause the state pays for it or just get my cdl and all through the company. Really leaning with the former since i can come out not owing a penny.

A quick search on the Averitt website shows they have 6 terminals in KY and 7 in TN. They have a dock to driver program. @tscottme drove for them. Other large LTL carriers such as Estes and Old Dominion have dock to driver programs. Call them and ask.

    Any Publix locations near you?

“Publix offers a "Dock-to-Driver" program that allows Publix associates working in distribution centers to transition into truck driving positions. This program provides training and support to help employees obtain their CDL (Commercial Driver's License) and transition into a driving career within Publix. “

Dot Foods, in Dyersburg, TN, and Manchester, TN, have programs. They do have inward-facing cameras.

The best way to go to CDL school depends on the particular trucking company that hires you for your first job.
ALL OF THEM REQUIRE YOU BE DRUG FREE.
ALL OF THEM TEST FOR DRUGS.

Find the employer that knows your record and will hire you once you have a CDL. DO NOT go to CDL school and hope for the best in an industry that is not hiring every broken unit coming from any and every CDL school. If you do and can't get hired, that's a problem you created for yourself.

    ducnut Thanks this.

I don't know anything about Averitt's dock-to-driver program. I don't think @Captainmidnite51 is a good match for Averitt and Averitt is serious as a heart-attack about drug testing.

    ducnut and Sirscrapntruckalot Thank this.

Pack your bags and move to Las Vegas. Plenty of starter companies here and cdl schools. You can do your current remote work from here also. No state income taxes.
Also, lots of jobs here other than trucking and most of the casino jobs are union with good benefits and retirement package.
