If you have your cdl already and you can pass the driving test you can go out with a trainer for 1-3 weeks depending on your skills and be paid during training. If they feel you're a safe driver you'll get a truck after that. Check out rewest.com. We're in need of step deck drivers. When I started you got paid $500 /week during training & started out at .35 /mile.

His limited experience will lead most to classify him as a new student. Since he may or may not remember how to drive. But refresher wise, I did one at Central Refregerated quite a few years ago. Had many years local experience, but no recent OTR. I had to do 9 days at a school, mostly sitting bored in a classroom watching videos, then a few days backing, since they tried me on the road once, said I was fine and never went back out lol. Did 2 weeks or so with a trainer, then was solo. Cost was 2000, but all in payments, and had my safety bonus checks put towards it, so was paid off in 6 months. Turned into a really good job, enjoyed the company and made good money. Then decided I needed to be home more, so went another direction after a year and a half with them.
