my 18 year graduated may 19th and left may 21st for an all expenses paid 2 month vacation at ft. jackson ,sc then aug 3 he goes to skydiving classes at ft.benning for 3 weeks, then he gets another 4 month trip to beautiful ft.lee, va where he will be in the fall. the leaves will be pretty that time of year. i wonder if the original poster would like a free vacation like that?? he could even be a truckdriver there to after his vacation!

Go out and get 6-12 months experience,

then sign on with an employment agency.

    Work when YOU want to.

    My advice:

Quit driving school. Go find something else to do instead of being an inexperienced driver out on the road that constantly thinks about getting home as opposed to driving your truck safely. Improper frame of mind = distracted = dangerous driver.

If you aren't prepared for and willing to accept that you may spend upwards of 6-8 weeks at a time out before getting home (cuz it can happen) for only 2-5 days, then you are coming into this industry with the wrong expectations.
