Well in 1997 i was hooking up to preloaded trailer was standing on a drain cover while hooking up the air hoses and the cover colapsed and i fell in,soon afterwards had back surgery,6months later came back to find out the company was shutting down, doctors said i wouldnt driving big rigs.10 years later came back to driving .its been 3 and half years with no problems.one thing i do try to do,when you see a big bump coming, lean forward so the back of the seat isnt jarring you.good luck man

I make my own. I like to walk when I have time. I also like sweeping out the trailer to give me somthing to do. I like doing sit ups in the sleeper and or body weight squats, stretching and that's about it.

the job has no physical activities other then climbing in to the trailer to put up load bars when needed. I'm a big guy always have been.

some of the guys I see that have let themselves get out of control to the point where they are. Makes me sick, makes me never want to get to that point. So I do what necessary to say semi active. Actually have lost weight since being out here.

Good post there RogerThat72....OTR doesn't really have alot of built in exercise.....but "fat" doesn't happen overnight....lots of drivers simply are lazy. To those I have no feelings for you....you let it happen to yourself...it can totally be avoided with just a minimum of effort required. Eating right and exercising are a choice.....

Take this bit for what it is worth to you. (Disclaimer, I am not a doctor nor do I play one on TV.) I had been having terrible time with my knees. Standing on a concrete floor for any amount of time would mean excruciating pain. I had a friend tell me about Turmeric (Curcumin) and I thought he was nuts. He finally gave me some of his to take (Now, 665mg each, 1 per day only.) and at the end of the week I was pain free. At the end of week two, I notice a huge improvement with my back. Climbing in and out of the truck, not a problem now. I will say, that if you miss a day, you will know it very quickly. My arthritis is greatly improved, I hope it helps you as well.
