This thing your talking about Ca cracking down on SWIFT. If your drivers have been building up driving awards or accidents, then CA DOT will come down on them. But they need a reason there not picking on SWIFT. Mostly its just dispatchers trying to get you in compliance by scaring you. DOour drivers are normally the problem. Not pretriping well or by getting pulled over or violations.
When it comes to terminal fuel, one place that I can never figure out, PHX. Most of the times that I am in the area, can get it cheaper outside then there. And today, found fuel in the NE of OH, $3.77/gal, and that was the J, Loves, all of them. Got to the terminal, $3.85, and outside, $4.13
Hit Cali today ... pulled into both open scales. I went through this couple of years ago, started in Socal and had to hit every scale between there and Sacramento ... We'll see how tomorrow goes, going by 3 more scales. Two of them are typically closed, though. Took 15 minutes to go through the Banyon scale ... My load is only 400lbs ... I was so tempted to roll through the empty lane.
ok last three days in cali and oregon....they pulling almost everyone into every scale...not just swift.....they are not pulling people around for inspections...mostly just weighing...which btw?...why the f have a prepass if we cant prepass? i have had a variety of weights, trailers, day and night and its always the same...everybody in the scale.....weigh and go....frickin' irritating!
Yeah, couldn't agree more! Last week in Troutdale was informed that Oregon too was also pulling in every Swift. Who knows why? I guess its just a very bored and out of control legal system that we just have to get used to. How about this legal crap, coming across our Qualcomm's? Almost $400/yr for ticket defense. Pretty slick, first the important info on what not to do if given a citation in NM, then a short time later in the day, another spam/advertizement to get their services. Man, there is so many things to say about that, I just don't know where to begin. lol
Pre Pass doesn't work in Oregon ... Swift always gets pulled into every open scale in Oregon as well as Idaho and Washington. Those states use Nor Pass instead of Pre Pass. Those advertisements are coming in from two different companies ... I'm beginning to suspect that they paid advertising through Qualcom and Swift has to allow it per their agreement with Qualcom.
Swift is doing its part to address the issue, albeit a little too late now...but every terminal i been in the last week if i stop at the fuel island trailer gets inspected(truck also) and if minor fixed right then....
