You told me you traded a fender to a B61 Mack and a pack of Winston's to use a Brockway for your driving test.
@Jubal Early Times took his test in an Emeryville after planting 40 acres of corn, and helping solder a copper moonshine still for a guy in Augusta.
What did you pay for your CDL training in 2023?

Was delivering road salt in a blizzard when I was suppose to take my test. Officer took me out for a quick road test and went back in his office. Few moments later peeked his head out and motioned for me to come inside. I asked no back up testing? He replied that he didnt want to go outside so sign here. I did and that was it.

Our community college in Rock Springs, Wyoming charges $3995 for four weeks of Class A training, and two attempts at the final test are included with tuition. If a student needs a third test, and that's rare, the student is responsible for the $85 test fee. The college has an in-house tester, but that tester isn't always available, sometimes still has to use WYDOT for testing if the in-house tester is unavailable (he's full-time faculty in another area of the college.)
Class B training is $3495, and often completes in less than four weeks.
I'm not sure what the cost is for the Passenger endorsement, but it's one week long if you have a CDL already, and three weeks if you don't.Rideandrepair and Vaso.L Thank this. -
I got free/paid training from the guys that stayed out and drank all night. They would stop at the dirt cross roads at the outskirts of town and offer me a few bucks to drive thier truck out to the mines, get it loaded and bring them back out to the crossroad. (Still can't figure how anybody actually slept off a hang over in the passenger seat bouncing down those strip mine roads but they did) after awhile I was doing it for few others and one day one guy let me drive his entire run.
Went down took the test with him when I was old enough and he took me to see his boss the next day. I was hired and started driving first thing Monday morning.Rideandrepair, HoneyBadger67 and Vaso.L Thank this. -

My tuition last year was $5,000, but that was at a discount from their normal rate of $6,000 because I used the WIOA to pay for most of it. I think the state paid around four grand and I paid the other thousand out of pocket, which was later reimbursed by my first company.
If you're starting a school, you may want to look into a finance company to partner with for students who need it, which will probably be most. People who can afford to pay completely out of pocket usually go the community college route, and you'll never be able to compete with their rates. Any company that handles that sort of thing can tell you the going rates for your area.
And you can always call other schools around you and ask their prices.
Good luckRideandrepair Thanks this.
