That's like saying setting the clock on the dash reprograms the instrument cluster ecu.

stick to driving bud, leave the coding and the terminology to the actual people that coded and have used it in its proper context.

    I

Why didn’t you guys take advice on getting an ecm dump before you messed with the firmware?

You are right, all that has to be done for a paccar engine is to remove the “sales code” in the ecm parameters list for both gdp and ps and it is turned off - just record the “sales code” for future reference.

Only thing you can do is turn off progressive shift in ecm

On a MX all parameter changes are installed by reflashing the ECM. So a parameter change is programming. It is my assumption that the OP has a delete file he doesn’t want to lose making the progressive shift changes. It may just be the delete that is causing the issue. If he makes a parameter change and reflashes it will be lost.

I don't know what a delete is but my ecm is programed to make water for tea at 5am. Can't lose that yeah, this is exactly what I was told. Hense the unplug something question. I might just pay the 300 bucks, and turn up my hp at the same time.

We could tell you, but then we'd have to kill you. That info goes right to the Pentagon,,however, I heard, on governed trucks, if you stab the throttle 3 times quickly, it over rides the limiter for passing. If it's true, these "elephant races" drivers don't know that.

What? You could never change any parameter if that were true.
He just doesn't want to pay the dealer to do it, that's all.

Or you could just buy the software the dealership uses, like everyone else who programs their own ECM.
