What do truckers do after they hit the 11 hour mark for driving?

    Official company policy: At precisely 11 hours of driving, the truck turns back into a pumpkin.

    Definitely want to be somewhere pumpkin-friendly when that happens.

    I like e logs if it wasn't for e logs these companies would have you working 18 hrs a day with 5 or 6 hrs of sleep just like they done for years and years

    I go to my Safe Space.

    But seriously. I activate the teleportation feature if I'm not where I want to be. It's a worthwhile option provided by Freightliner. Worth every dollar. However, I don't get paid for those miles.

    If you have three hours of on-duty time available at the end of the day, you didn't do everything you needed to do that day.

    Pre-trip takes 15 minutes. Fueling takes 7-10. Load checks are 15-25 (unless you are pulling a grain hopper, tanker or pneumatic, you are required to stop and check load securement). Half hour break is 30.

    If you are lucky, you'll have 2 hours left over.
