Angle parking, portable toilets on either end of the fuel aisle, friendly help, good quick meals like they have in the Petro fuel buildings-soups,chili,enchilada's,etc,plenty of room to get in and out and easy temp parking area for drivers who just want to fuel/ eat and go,CD's for sale that aren't cut-outs,piss-free parking lots.
What do truckers really want from a truck stop?

I would like for the truck stops and turnpike service plazas that have double / triple / oversize parking to enforce the rules...
all too often I pull into a plaza and the long john spaces are sitting filled by an OTR guy watching a movie and sleeping...
with no where to park I am forced to double park for a bit while I eat - or worse, forced to keep rolling...
My brethren all company about this problem - and it is getting worse with the elimination of many of our spots via the "idle aire fiasco" taking up valuable pull through spaces. -
my wife and I always feel for you drivers, when we pull into a stop late at night to fuel, however you drivers are usually forced to park on the exit ramp.
-
well luckily my type of truck driving has me home after most days - and in a hotel room on "laydowns" -
what I was talking about was just having a space to use the bathroom or to grab a bite to eat... -
yes, I bet it sucks when the coffee kicks in, or the botulism buffet calls you back to the truckstop in a hurry!
-
a clean parking lot with plenty of room to park and no pot holes and security roaming around to discourge prostitution

The number one thing I wish in a truck stop would be the ability to pay for fuel (I always pay cash) in less time that the 5 minutes it takes to actually fill up. I hate making 2 trips inside, one to register, one to pay, both times standing 6 deep behind everyone buying lotto tix, smokes, chilli dogs, and mega slurppie gallon jugs of pop...
Pilots seem to be the worst these days. The J's are hit or miss. -
yeah, how bout a transponder that registers you like an ezpass except for fuel!

Security. Good security. Not the guards that spend all night hiding, but are actually out in the parking lot. Even better, employ an off-duty police officer like other businesses do.
