Ive got my eyes on an '84 K100 flat top. BC 3, 13 spd on 24.5 rubber. Not sure what the gear ratio is. This truck looks really clean and the best part is it only has 530k original miles! It needs a couple minor things, but overall looks good. What is yer opinions on somerhin like this and what might it be worth? Im lookin for somethin old skool as a part time truck/play toy...

To each his own, but i would want maximum fuel mileage. i personally would not want a k100 regardless of how cool it looks. Wouldnt you rather have a low mileage woman in the same condition?

So yer saying I should have a Prostar glider with a 6x2 configuration on wide singles with a reman 12.7 detroit then? Thanks for your input, that really helps...

If yer really gonna compare trucks to women, then you have issues...

the woman part went over your head i guess, and i repeat "to each his own". maybe you could buy a sense of humor, unless you just like men. but thats none of any1s business :) if you want the truck for a toy then buy it.

I'd love to see some pics, I love old trucks and belong to ATHS which promotes old iron and they have lots of antique truck shows that I love to attend. If it's what you want and it's within your budget go for it, you'll be surprised at the compliments you'll get when you get into shape. To the nay sayers I say if you love mpg's then you love money not trucks.

that's a nice freight liner cabover ya got there.

    one concern would be

is that 500k really 1.5m 2.5m if it really is 500k that truck has sat around alot witch can sometimes be worse than having a extra mill on it but having been kept up.

now as far as what its worth without seeing it really couldn't tell yea, on old trucks like that condition is everything you could have two identical year make model trucks spec'd exactly the same and have a huge swing in price due to condition.

The truck is original mileage. The current owner has had it for 15 years and used it as a back up truck. Only put 30K miles on it since he owned it. It has been started every now n then to keep everything wet so I think this guy kinda knows what he was doin. Im goin off pics and description and I think for the year I would probably give this truck a 7+ outa 10 on overall condition. Its a southern truck to so no rust. I think I can get it for under 4 grand...

That's a great looking Frieghtshaker. As far as price that's going to be up to you especially since I haven't seen it, but I can tell you I've seen some old trucks in the 60 to $70,000 range that I would have bought if I could have afforded to buy without causing me a hardship. Your heart and wallet will have to have the last say. lol
