Get in and out of the cab real fast 20 times with out stopping and see if you still like it. I wouldn't buy a COE if they got 10 mpg guaranteed.
What do ya think of this truck?

LOL...did you not see what I posted a pic of what I already have?? Is a KW that much different to get in and out of? If you are concerned about getting in and out then you must be one of those guys who cant make any money out here...didnt anyone ever tell you to keep the left door closed and the right pedal steady??
-
If you like it, buy it. After all it's your money. Even with the low mileage the truck is prob 30 years old.
-
CbarM I forgot to ask you, is it a single or double bunk?
-
I'd but that truck for under 4k and ten more like it. a 4 thousand dollar truck is a money maker plain and simple. fyi, there is absolutely no reason you can't get 6.5mpg out of that truck.
-
Its a single bunk...thats the one downfall. It needs a foot valve (brake pedal) n a oil line gasket on the turbo n thats it. Everything else is good. I think for $4k I cant really lose. Its also got all alim wheels on air ride.
puncher Thanks this. -
I agree, and they ain't nothing wrong with a single bunk but those old double bunk cabovers are sure neat.
-
I did some calculations n if I get it for 4k + 400 to fly down + 1000 for fuel, 2000 mi @ 9 mpg bobtail +1100 for full svc n fixing brake pedal etc...Id have a sweet project in my yard for $6500!!

I drove cabovers my first 2 years. I don't miss them. But for a toy I might own one.
Conventionals are so much better. Except weight and maneuverability.
But ,hey man, go for it. -
Years ago at CRST most of the company drivers drove the old freighshaker century class then went to the Columbia. These trucks looked like crap, you couldn't get the thing to look crisp and clean after being washed.
The companies position was that the #### thing did what it was meant to do. I never agreed with Crusty on this mindset. Every truck is going to do what it's supposed to do.
It was after it was costing tons of money to fix these pieces of crap due to engine problems that the company went to Volvos which for the most part are better. Yes there still are Freightshakers here but not as many
