Yes he is asking and we are pointing him in a better direction but not asking a question about what he was shown because you think it’s pushing or over the top?
Fact is weather he starts doing a better pre trip or not at least getting a better understanding of some things and possible issues might help him in the future.
If he didn’t want our thoughts, advice or any direction he wouldn’t have posted asking for our thoughts!

He know's now. But your right should never jump on the guy that ask's. If you don't know you should ask. Most of our pretrip is done scanning the tractor / trailers and after a whiler you will see what does not look right, I check the front suspension with a small ballpeen hammer and a pair of channellock plyers. If it does not ring when tapped find out why. Steel parts that are in good shape should ring, like steering shafts, brake drums etc..

Just an example found today on why it's worth the 12 seconds to crawl under a trailer. Probably not going to spontaneously destruct within 50 miles, but probably not something you'd wanna send fully loaded to Laredo. Snapchat-1498264775.jpg

And here are examples of the site glass for the guy who started the thread. The one that's empty is unsurprisingly the culprit Snapchat-1207279005.jpg Snapchat-1592432993.jpg

Alright, I guess I'm the new guy with questions: Swung by a TA on the way to delivery close to our terminal for a quick opinion from tech at TA. Was told this is normal. Am I being too 'strict' about seeping and it really is normal? I know truly blown wheel seals are an obvious issue and needs fixed immediately. I was always under the impression that seeping, especially wet to the touch, is worthy of knocking out. Maybe not and I can save myself the headache?

    Does "knocking out" mean repairing?

    What's a pre trip?

Not sure if answered but if trailers are equipped with an inflate system then yes a bent rim will cause trailer pins that use air not to work. Your most likely experiencing air leaks.

Another response tell dispatchers that hurry you along that if you get a dot fine there paying for it
