    You've been very helpful.

Do you understand now why I did not know before today that hub oil seal leaks can happen on the inside of the wheel? Nobody told me that at my trucking school , and I'm not psychic. A trucker does not become psychic just because he has nine years of experience.

Now let's hold up before we dial up the authorities. Let it be known that whilst i may drop that pos trailer, it's only to go get the service truck. Unfortunately being in my position, i wear many hats.

Often a'holè, sometimes dumbas shadetree wanna be parts replacer, but usually schmuck

I'll be back at that trailer in a minute

I can’t fault him for this one, even here they don’t want anyone messing with auto slacks.

Before today, I was only familiar with leads on the outside.

If you don't call a leak on the outside of the trailer tire a hub oil seal leak, what do you call such a leak?

You’re going off into the weeds with technical terms. As you’ve found, describing it how you have to mechanics in the past they know what you’re talking about.

The link I posted earlier will show you the wheel end components.

I do a good post trip every time. I would rather know right then if I have a problem, especially if I needed to call for help. Better to take care of that stuff on my break than find out I have the problem when I am wanting to get on the road the next day..
