Smartphone with good data plan and laptop. Now getting spoiled on satellite tv installed and paid by carrier. I like watching my NYPD Blue reruns and other shows for an hour or two each day before bed. I don't read or have other hobbies.

12 volt cooler (if no fridge)
    12 volt slow cooker
    12 volt water boiler
I have what's called a sentry (gaming monitor. It has my ps4 in it. It's also 12 volt powered)
Obviously a GPS ;) (some of you may not agree)
    Receipt scanner for tax time
Portable toilet bags (you never know when you will break down)
    Bucket for said toilet bags
Emergency food. (E.g. candy bars, canned food that doesn't require heating up, water)
    Laundry bag
    Sleeping bag
    Gloves
    Second pair of gloves
Simple tool box, screw drivers, ratchets, hammer, etc.
Tandem stop (one of my favorite inventions ever!) Lol
Air hose with glad hands (hook up to air supply lines to get a source of air to either inflate tires or annoy your sleeping teamate in the cab.)
If no APU, simple cigarette lighter power converter (IF COMPANY ALLOWS some, if not most will not allow these from what I've seen).

A pillow is good, and so is an alarm clock,
If you have all the permits, then bring a Glock.
A tire pressure guage is a handy tool,
And if you don't have a flashlight, you'll soon feel like a fool.

I can see the posts now.

If you do this first make sure you know your companies policy and EVERY SINGLE INDIVIDUAL state law. All states are different. You permit will work in your state for sure. But possibly only your state. Be cautious and smart
