    I read this http://drbenkim.com/articles-lowback.html

I have chronic back pain from sitting too much at school and not exercising I guess.

And then I keep forgetting to stretch my hamstrings to ease the backpain as Dr. Ben Kim suggests.

    What do I do?
Stretch every morning, every night, anytime I feel the need. Back excercises every day. Ibuprofen or another otc pain reliever only when needed.
    Chronic... says it all.

I think the first problem your going to have is the whole sitting thing. If you are having back problems from just going to school for 8 to 10 hours a day goodluck with getting into a career which involves constant sitting!!!

There are some great stretches that you can find on any physical therapy site.
It is also to do proper lifting at all times, and also keep your weight under control. If sitting long periods of time bother you, there might just have to be lots of breaks in your driving future.

Make sure you don't sit on your wallet all the time too! Guys forget about that and the wallet can change how you are sitting and will put your back out of alignment. Sit up straight imagine a pole in your spine a string pulling your head up~we all slouch and is so bad. Strteching is good but you really need to strengthen the abdominals as these muscles are really what supports your back.

Try cold for 20 minutes then heat for 20 minutes. I have one of those bean bags you throw into the microwave and it works perfect.
