What do you do to Protect your tarps from rips

I purchased that felt from tri city canvas and really like it. However it’s huge. The 12x15’ piece rolls up to something like 2.5ft squared. I have 3 of these rolls. Now ideally I would like to keep the 12x15’ size so I can cover a machine or be able to cover large sharp areas. The problem comes when trying to store and carry this stuff. It’s too large to fit anywhere.

I’m thinking if I cut it into smaller squares I can store some in a side box, some in a step box, etc. What’s the best size to cut them into?

Never gave it any thought. Once in a blue moon a new tarp is put on the covered wagon or trailer when it is need of it. Faster and cheaper to return to service than to try and go after all that tree damage etc.

East St Louis into Granite comes to mind. All those trees back in the day.

Moving blankets and those pads don’t work for me. They are fine if you can get a strap over it to hold it in place. Sometimes it isn’t possible and I try using tape to hold them in place. It works but only for the one time. When I go to rip the tape off the entire pad/blanket gets torn to pieces.

Why don't you just leave the tape on?
