what do you do when a company blackballs you from other jobs

Some large companies do not use DAC either such as Ryder. Another note, 60% of motor carriers have less than 6 drivers qualifying them as a small company. Even if they used DAC they might not have the strict safety regulations large companies have in place. I am safety consultant and all of my clients are small motor carriers and none of them care about your safety record as long as your CDL is active.

There is a price to pay for our mistakes and you are paying yours.

 

I drove for many years and I was turned down because of accidents but this is what was on my record:
1. Stopped at a Stop Light and a car ran into the back end of my trailer. Statement from another truck driver cleared me of any fault.
2. Backed into a dock waiting to be unloaded when another driver backed in an knocked off one of my trailer doors.
3. Tractor parked in front of my home while I was on vacation in Canada for the week end. When I got home I discovered and was told about some kids driving by in the middle of the night and tossing a child's bicycle into my grill. Vandalism. Reported as vandalism, but rejected by company and given a warning for falsifying an "Accident" report. Amazing the Brain Power of some College Educated idiots running our safety departments.

One accident later that was my fault. I just was not up to driving and was not paying attention. The only at fault accident in my life.

One speeding ticket in a cut back truck in California. Yes, I was speeding, but who does not speed in California. 64.5 mph in a 55 on a clear day with light traffic in Norther California.

One Overweight ticket when the bills clearly showed Single Item, 20 pallets all shrink wrapped and loaded perfect. Took it to court and the judge threw it out.

Yes, I was denied a job at one place because of my record. Check around. You should be able to find a job.

DAC is not a plus for drivers. It is another control element that has an element of importance, but it can ruin lives by recording data that should not be allowed on a drivers record.

Why do they do it? They say, "because it shows a pattern!" Tell me the pattern it showed when I was having a run of bad luck and none was my doing.
