I am way too cheap to buy those k cups, let alone the machine! I have a $9.99 5 cup drip coffee maker from Walmart. Almost 2 years old and going strong. I buy a big can of whatever coffee is on sale or the cheapest. Two bottles of water is the most expensive part of my 2 cups of morning coffee!

I recently picked up a portable freezer. It wasn’t staying as cold as the digital display claimed. What brand/model do you have?

For the 1st 2 yrs I used a galanz 1.7 mini fridge turned all the way to cold. It kept my meat frozen pretty well no ice cream though.

I just got a arctic king 1.1 freezer ($129 walmart) it looks small, but if you use a food saver I can get 10 weeks of food for 2 in there.

With the Galanz I had to freeze the food for 2 days before putting it in there. With the arctic king I don't need to (I still do, it helps for storage. Everything is flat and solid) It also gets cold enough to hold ice cream.

My wife has wanted one of those since they first came out. Never gonna happen. We spend like seven bucks a month on a jug of Folgers. Plus I like "pouring" a cup of coffee. Not having some machine puke it into a cup.

This. Books are awesome. You can imprison the body, but not the mind...whether reading, thinking, or imagination. I think someone mentioned a kindle, these or something like a kindle are great. I have...the majority of Tom Clancy's books on mine. Most of his older books are 600 pages+ so it's nice not having to lug around all those books. I also have a ton of others on it, along with music, audio books, etc.

As others have said...yes you can cook on a truck. You will just have to do it in a smaller space and without all the convenience of a 'normal' kitchen. Several options are available to help you with cooking but again like others said...worry about being a truck chef after you get the basics and such down. Lot easier cooking a pot roast all day(i love me a slow cooker) if your not flipping it, hitting curbs, running into ####, etc. :)

Ahh..not only from NC but good taste in authors. Love me some Clive Cussler. Wife loves Patterson. Been reading Cussler for a very long time.

Pitt, Austin, and most of the others are quite enjoyable, but I enjoy the early Pitt ones the best.

Good if you have no other option, but yea...I to prefer non-nuked food.

Walking...great for body health and mental health. Get out take a spin on those legs and enjoy the world. Doesn't even have to be a long one, lots of short ones work to.

Kindles are great. I know I said it above and quoting here but it deserves to be said yet again...they rock. Use whatever tablet you prefer, for me, the kindle does most of what I need it to do, be a portable library. haha.

Be like this guy: An E.W. Wylie driver who builds model boats in the truck during his downtime. He sold one of these to a Mississippi River pilot for several thousand dollars.

That usually means taking a longer break... Like say 12 to 20 hours instead of just 10 hours, watch a movie or play some video games, or sometimes go to a nice restaurant.

Oh, nice. For some reason I assumed dispatch just kept feeding you work until you hit the limit. Didn’t know it was up to you.
