Another option is the National Truck Stop Directory [$14.95] some truck stops sell them or online at http://www.truckstops.com/moretf1.html
.I have stopped behind a weigh station. The good is it is a paved parking lot. The bad is no facilities if they are closed. And no, they did not inspect the truck when they opened the next morning. Be sure to check the signs to ensure this is allowed after hours. For example: New Jersey does not allow after hours parking at the weigh stations on I-78 near exit 7. Thanks alot Jersey that is a real great help. :biggrin_25510:
    .
.If you are desperate for a place to park, ask the cops. I could not find a place to park when I was in Florida. I asked a cop and he said park at this construction parking site. I said it is posted no parking. Cop says as long as your gone by 8 AM there is no problem. Worked out quite well.

Yep, sit like a buzzard but usually where there is one truck stop there are 2-3 of them in the area. There is always someone coming and going. But a man has to do what he has to do. There are too many grey areas in the regs and finding a safe spot is not a career ending move. First you have to get caught. Second the person that does find it will most likely be understanding because they know how it is out there.

If you are going to spend 34 hours on TTR does it really matter? :biggrin_2559:

Exactly, it's called planning. Too many out there run by the seat of their pants.

A future blow up doll owner! :biggrin_2559:

Hey there is nothing wrong with that. I had one, she was a real pretty brunette. One day while driving down the road I reached over and put my hand on her leg, and she farted and blew out the window.

These guys pretty much already said it. I deliver to a lot of lowes and home depot. Which kinda sucks cause if im parking at a home depot but not delivering to that one they will wake me up at 3 - 4am thinking im delivering lol. But I personally never park at truck stops anymore unless I have to. Usually walmart. Food chaing or mall lots. Lowes home depot. If desperate and not in michigan entry or exit ramps. (Never do this in michigan) they will ticket u every time. Just be considerate when u park in lots and u should be fine.
