What do you do when your not driving? Do you sit in your truck and read, watch movies, sleep? Are there things to do at the Truck Stops. Is there wireless connections at Truck Stops or places you stay?
Just questions I never seen asked here and was interested in knowing.

I get on the net, with my verizon air card wherever I'm at,read the news, check out my local paper on the net, then I ussaually hit the forum here, see what cybergal has found in wrecks and stuff, chk out logs r us and my other favorites, see where i can add my two or three cents helping newbees or others, then maybe play tetrus for 15 to 20 mins and sleep the rest of the time, after eating and shower. No tv for me,took it out when I did the net thing. That's really all the time I have,oh,by the way,I still drive at home,I drive my wife crazy when I am home so i guess,in a way,I'm still driving.

If you play guitar or some other instrument it's a good thing to have. I used to even carry an amplifier for my guitar in my truck. You could get one of those fold up bicycles which would give you some mobility and exercise. I'm planning to get one but haven't done it yet.
I used to exercise a lot and need to start doing that again. I had a hacky-sack, if you remember what those are and was pretty good at it. Doing that for thirty or forty minutes was a pretty good aerobic workout. Though it brought a lot of stares and laughs. If there was a decent road without traffic nearby I would go and jog for a good clip.
Currently, I've been enrolled in online college courses and that takes up a lot of my spare time. And of course this forum is kind of addictive.
There's a lot of wireless connections or you can get an air card from Sprint, Verizon, or others. -
If you have an internet connection, you can always check out the area you're in and see if there is anything local you could walk to. Mapquest even has arial photos of the map you've pulled up.
I've found in my limited time out here that you can only spend so much time cooped up in the truck (watching tv, reading, internet). I plan to strap my bike to the truck somehow for the future.
Then if you don't have internet or TV, I've found that watching other drivers park can be a learning experience as well as entertaining.... -
I like the sipping coffee and jawing with other drivers---you would never guess, huh?! -

Just curious, but how many preventable accidents does it usually take for a co. to let you go? .... not that I'm planning to have any but...
