I also listen to Buck Owens and the Buckaroos, or the Tennessee Three. I also leave my dual band radio in scan mode, mostly on the Papa or Win System.

I understand, I lost a hood at the Pilot Havasu exit on 40 in AZ back in 2002, Thank you to SWIFT. but that's another story. Now I really try to stay somewhere other than truckstops if possibile.

Here's what I do while driving for hours on end:
I concentrate on whatever the next potential hazard is going to be, listen to the truck, check my mirrors to make sure my load securement is good (no loose straps, no walking dunnage, no stray sacks creeping out the edge of a pallet, no billowing tarps, etc).
I also pay attention to the latest weather radar if it's going to be iffy, use Fuelbook to see where the best fuel prices are up ahead, use Trucker's Path to see if parking is available or if a scale is open so I can plan to bypass the scale, you know, super trucker stuff...
Truth be told I have an excellent sound system in my truck, but I haven't listened to it in years. Last time I turned on the radio I quickly turned it back off. Too much of a distraction and I can't properly hear the truck. I can free foot and stay within +/- 2 mph of my target speed just by listening. I can hear that soft "Pffftttt" of a trailer tire letting go from a nail and get it over to a safe place before I tear up mudflaps or worse. I can hear an unusual metallic "Ping!" and pull over, open the hood, and find the hood catch has worked itself off the screws, get it back in place, and eliminate having it drop down into the steer tires.

Well I know that, I just didn’t know what else you could do. I can keep my eyes on the road but when you have to do it for a living for long periods of time, I thought people would come up with some ways to pass the time. The audiobook thing that’s been mentioned here several times is a good idea, never thought of it.Lepton1 Thanks this.
