Is there a place to properly dispose of the fuel water at truck stops? Thanks

Put it in your coffee in the morning, works as a great sweetener. :biggrin_2554:

I drain mine at home & keep in coffee containers, then use as needed for cleaning grease, oil off parts of truck after I service it, clean tools, hands, e.t.c.

Most good truck stops have a drain great (or something) for collection of spilled fuel at the fuel islands.

    They collect it.

A tanker truck comes regular & picks it up & takes it back to be treated & such. It's required for EPA compliance.

    Not to worry.

I pour mine on the fifth wheel. The jaws get gummed up with excess grease on mine, I like to keep the grease light on them.( auto greaser.)

I have never drained water from fuel in a truck. It is common on aircraft and we just poured the water on the ground. Of course because we did that the planet is now way to hot and men can marry men.

It is a good thing you ask this question, now tell me how to drain it.

Mr Ed and d281833 Thank this.

Some trucks have a petcock on the seperator. At last fuel stop noticed it was getting full. Checked owners manual. Says to drain daily. Never seen one fill up so fast. Not even on the army's trucks.

I drain it in a old antifreeze jug and keep it in my aluminum tool box then take it in the shop at a truck stop. They will dispose of it for you.
