This may be a dumb question but... I'm packing for school and wondering what do you guys drive in as far as shoes/boots? I'm contemplating going to grab a pair of steel toe boots but is it necessary for school? Any input would be greatly appreciated.
And what else do you recommend I pack for school? Gloves etc....
What do you drive in?

I wear sneakers most of the time, but I carry a set of steel-toed boots for rough weather and winter time. It couldn't hurt to own both.

I think while in school just fueling gloves should do the trick...
Is your schooling through a trucking company or an independent school?Grijon and Birdman803 Thank this. -
Tennis shoes in summer. Cowboy boots in winter. Always carry a pair of steel toes cause some shippers will require you to have them. I also had a pair of slippers to lounge in truck. Floor of truck could be really hot or cold

It will be an independent school.

Op, I almost always wear steel toe boots. I'm just used to them and I don't need to change footwear when I get to a shipper or receiver. You wear what's comfortable, but own some boots before you get a job if possible. Gloves for loading, unloading, securement, pretrips, etc, depending on where and what you drive.
Why don't you call the school and ask what you need to bring? More than likely they will say nothing more than closed toe shoes.Grijon and Birdman803 Thank this.
