Easy, that is when you fuel up before your 'break' take 10 hours off... pick up a load, run it... log off duty reset. Then, bounce to your next load. :smt002

I usually spend the first hour sitting in the driver's seat playing music over the cb. Then I go in the restaurant and order a glass of water and sit at the counter with my bluetooth on pretending to talk to someone about how much money I'm making and how tough I am in an attempt to impress the waitress.

When her shift ends and the new waitress comes on I get up and go to the tv room and find the guy who looks most into whatever is on and ask him about it. I then sit and watch and when a really important scene is unfolding, I attempt to strike up a conversation about something completely unrelated. When the credits start, I let everyone know that the program was stupid and give them my alternate ending.

After that, it's time to get some shuteye, so I head back out to the truck get undressed, climb back out in my underwear to pee on the ground between the truck and trailer and then go to bed.

I carry a laptop with Verizon so internet is no problem. Mostly watch a show (currently Supernatural) while eating dinner then curl up with a book (e-reader).

Most my runs are 800+ miles so I normally get at least 1 day where it's just drive and pre/post-trip. Trying to keep to 8-9 days for rollover hours (without doctoring logs) so I get a bit more daily free time. I'm tired of taking '34's' on the road. On the positive side, I might switch over to reefer so I get more time at home terminal (5 miles from house). That said, I have a few games on the ol' laptop...:biggrin_25520:

Do my logs, post trip, set up paperwork for tomorrow. Grab what ever food like substance is least questionable from the TS. Call the wife and children. Read a chapter or two in my current book. Look at clock and realize that I have read 27 chapters and know that I am only getting 2-3 hours of shut eye before I have to get up and drive again. I try to keep my days to around 8.5 hours so that I can run 7 days a week and not end up with a 34 hour reset. Nothing gripes me more than having to sit on my tail in a TS in another state when I could be doing something productive.

There's lots of things to do during the "break" we're suppose to be sleeping during. You have a good grip on It with laptop , internet , movies , etc. I personally like to take a little time each day to try to keep the inside of the truck as clean as possible. I also spend a lot of time on this website passing on hard earned knowledge or laughing at some of the ridiculous posts on here. Go inside the truck stop and shoot the bull with other drivers is another good one. Never disappointed with that, that's what they did when I first started driving and if it happened more, we'd probably get along a lot better out here.
