So I've decided I think I might go back to the gym. I used to have a gym membership and then it expired and that was that. However this may sound odd to a lot, but the thing about food service trucking is after some time you do get conditioned to the work. Now there isn't any one who's obese not really, but it's possible to gain weight and do this job. Like I said you do get conditioned to it after a while.

So I think I'm going to go join the gym again and use it to run on the treadmill and stuff. I don't bother lifting weights at the gym, because there's to many meat heads at the gym in the weightlifting section and I am not welcome in there club, but I can run on the treadmill. I'll use my credit card to pay for the membership.

Gym membership is always good, because it helps you to exercise EVERYTHING. Often time the job will just work the hell out of certain muscles, but still leave you wanting.
(Hah, looky here, fat man giving opinion about a gym membership....)

We generally do not eat lunch. What we will do is graze.

When it's a pending storm day with two feet of snow and valley ice, we will sit and have a proper lunch to fill up our tanks for battle to come. Might be 30 or 50 hours before we break through the coming range ahead.

Yep. That's why you always should have food and water to get you through. If you're caught in a storm where you're out in bum flick Kansas with the highway closed for several hours, (or days, in extreme cases,) you'll be glad you are prepared.

I'm going gym shopping I hate gym shopping don't much care for it at all. I know what gym I want to join, because I was already a member there once, but that doesn't mean I like the initial sign up. See I know what I have and want to do and I'm not some yuppie that needs the grand tour and that needs to ask if the Yoga room is carbon free. I don't care for Yoga that's not for me and I'm not some meat head weight lifter I lift enough weight during the day.

I just hate high pressure sales stuff, just let me give you the money you sign me up and we never talk again that's what I want and I think I can get that, but I don't know sometimes I hate dealing with sales people especially high pressure sales people at places like a gym. What's even stupider is I called the gym asking what it would cost to join and the woman said she would have to get the guy to call me back!

How stupid is that? What do you mean you have to get the guy to call me back? Why would you not know? That irritates the crap out of me. I just don't like gym people they make it to hard and I hate high pressure sales. High pressure sales is a lot of things it's cell phones (I avoid the cell phone store like the plague.) , car dealerships and LTL freight sales people those are all examples of high pressure sales actually parcel sales people are worse. DHL, UPS and FedEx all have sales people for there business accounts and that's all boiler room high pressure stuff.

I mean here it is here is my money I know what I want. Oh well time to go face the dragon and deal with these people.

I am reminded of what @Big Don has taught us when he said the thing he dreads the most is putting together a private car sale together. Well one of the things I dread is sales people at the gym they do nothing, but give me anxiety and that's wasted anxiety, because I could use that anxiety to worry about work tomorrow thank you very much! (I hope you all know I'm partially kidding in that last bit.)

So I came up with a brilliant idea. Instead of going to the gym gym I went down to the city recreation center instead! They built a new civic center in my city 16 years ago and it has all the good stuff you would see at a gym only without all the gym BS. I figured wait a minute the tax dollars already built a gym I should use it to my advantage and so I decided that is what I would do. $268.00 no high pressure sales everyone was real nice and they leave you alone you can't really beat that.

Very Good. We don't have one here, but the next town over has one that's only a couple of years old. And their prices are extremely reasonable for non city residents.

The recenter was great late model equipment, not as many machines as a gym gym, but they don't get the traffic either, however it wasn't like they had nothing the tax payers I guess I could be in that fold I do pay city tax every quarter when I get the bill and I've paid $15,500+ in taxes this year out of my pay check so I guess I'm by default a tax payer. So the tax payers spent good money on good equipment.

5000 square foot fitness center and everything was up dated late model stuff plenty to go around, I didn't realize what a nice indoor pool they had either I'm won't be swimming any time soon (although it's good exercise) but they have a very very very nice indoor pool, that was in there, they used to deffer everyone to the high school pool and technically the high school pool is fine I guess, it kind of for whatever reason grosses me out a little they have so much chlorine in it there's a green cloud at the top of the ceiling. What was worse was our high school has a pretty decent weight room, it's pretty legit the equipment is not brand new, but it doesn't need to be, but the stuff they bought when they bought it 10-15-20 years ago was like the best of the best pretty much meant to last forever, but you can't get to it and the city realized that wasn't going to work.

I don't really care at all about free weights that doesn't interest me at all.

However the fitness center at the rec center A-1 I didn't see anything there a bigger fancier gym wouldn't have had and for $268.00 for the year. Open 5:30am-9:30pm I can go after work. I'm usually done early afternoon between 3pm-5pm not a whole lot is cooking so that's perfect time.

The woman said (okay I said) a lot of the yuppies (kids my age) don't like to go there because it's not cool which is absolutely perfect so it's pretty much Joe Citizen and the occasional person like my self and people who just want to be left in peace so I was pretty pleased.

Really I'm glad I did this we pay a lot of taxes and because of that though there are things open to us, should really start taking advantage of things the community has to offer.
