Yea an 06 egr motor you had to mod the motor to get rid of the egr even if was the 12.7 egr motor. than the first leason I learn about the 12.7 was for Detroit themselves who told me to turn the injector settings from the stock 14% to 70% for 6 months than 75 or 80% but to make sure to run it 6 good months at 70% to work the head gasket up to the temp increase. Its not that it runs at melt by any means just a head gasket is like a person. If you lift 20 lbs everyday all day but than I make you lift 100 lbs everyday your going to break but push you up in steps and you can do it...same deal. Second thing they told me on freighliners was to get ride of the upside down filter housing bowl...the one where the filter sat in the bowl with a big clear tank on it...and go to a good spin on filter. Third was to throw out the waste gate turbo and go with a gateless turbo. and if I could afford it a port and polished manifold and better turbo. and the best one was not to under work a Detroit. that 12.7 like to work, that running in her power range is where you pickup the better mpg. been doing that ever since and getting 7s in most of my classics. My best friend who has family money did the manifold turbo turbo blanket and everything else I posted and is almost at 9. pisses me off....lol

Go back and work a deal with the T-2000, even if you have to get close to his price. Ask him to ride with you to the dyno place, and if it checks out on the trip and the dyno looks good, you will pay him cash. That will usually get their attention. At the mileage on that truck, you will have a few things like alternators, a/c compressors, hoses, ect, but you should be good to go for a long time after that. Chance all rear and transmission fluids soon after you get it, and drain and refill the front hubs. They should have plugs on the caps, or take the caps off to change the oil. When doing the dyno, if it checks out, have the place do a complete DOT inspection, expecially the king pins and rear suspension bushings. Anything you find there can be negotiated from your agreed purchase price.

You never did say if the suspension had been upgraded on the T-2000.

I'm impressed, you know a ton about truck mechanics. Very rare for a lady. You're very cute too. I love redheads.

To the OP I thought you were buying that brown FLD?
