Go back and work a deal with the T-2000, even if you have to get close to his price. Ask him to ride with you to the dyno place, and if it checks out on the trip and the dyno looks good, you will pay him cash. That will usually get their attention. At the mileage on that truck, you will have a few things like alternators, a/c compressors, hoses, ect, but you should be good to go for a long time after that. Chance all rear and transmission fluids soon after you get it, and drain and refill the front hubs. They should have plugs on the caps, or take the caps off to change the oil. When doing the dyno, if it checks out, have the place do a complete DOT inspection, expecially the king pins and rear suspension bushings. Anything you find there can be negotiated from your agreed purchase price.

You never did say if the suspension had been upgraded on the T-2000.

Stranger: The suspension has not been changed ..everything is original on that truck. I like it . thats the truck! i am willing to pay freightliner bodyshop to shorten the wheelbase 3500! ... plus truck 23000 thats 26500 for truck ..

I offered 23,000 plus Ill pay for the fuel 6 hr drive and dyno . After dyno they get all the $ . The owner is being stubborn as heck.. I told him I will give him 23k cash or bank money order ..whatever he wants .. . he said no . he said we will take 23700 no dyno but we can sell you waranty bahahahahahaha ... comee onnn .. I was hoping to get 1000 for that box ..which would make truck price 25500 ... 500 above my goal is ok

the owner , old guy , i guess he is retired and not in hurry to sell the truck ....
nothing i can do. Not buying the truck without dyno period. I dont care how shiny it looks and how good it drives ..

this lady today tried selling me her 98 t2000 with cat c12 in it ..it has about 900k miles....but she was giving me the truck for $6000!!
swears theat inframe was done 99 ..i doubt it..i called cat they said 2001 replaced injector. The body looks decent . but 6 k??? thats crazy

 

i found nice n14 with 635k miles . i KNOW they are great engines
