What do you guys think of JB Hunt? Good rep?

Does anyone have any idea what this driving job at JB Hunt is? I have an extremely strong suspicion that the $105,000 figure is wildly inflated.

 

Actually no it's not wildly inflated.

I have hammered my fists, banged my forehead on the wall until I am covered in bruises advocating a flat salary system instead of a few sheets full of BS hoops to jump through to get a dollar a mile.

Someday I hope to live long enough to see a trucking company across the industry say here, Mr Professional Truck Driver, this is your salary of 105,000 dollars paid fo the year.

Get going, stop dawdling on that check yer late already. HA.

 

I have been on the Goodyear tire account out of Terrell Tx with JB Hunt for five years now. I do not have any plans on quitting. I like the weekly route I have, and the office support guys are great.They will do whatever it takes to get my what I need. Just last week when i-80 in Wy was shutdown I told them "hey I will not be able to grab the backhaul and make it home in time for the weekend" and they said no problem, just head on back to Texas empty.

My w2 for 2018 was just under 78k. Probably will be over 80k next year with the pay increase which happens about once a year.

I have never been otr but perhaps it is not much different quality wise.

 

Are you chucking tires out of the trailer at tire stores or something else?

 

I rocket them tires out at Walmart employees mostly. A few other tire chains and even a couple independent service repair shops.

A few times I have even managed to have my tire get intercepted by a walmart customer passing by behind the trailer that was not paying attention to their surroundings.
