Its a 2004 8600 single axle with less than 70k miles on it I bought off Ryder, my cousin is a Sales manager in San Antonio and told me about the truck after I asked him to alert me about any great trucks that pass his way. He put it on sale pending before they even listed it online, so no one would buy it on the spot.
I got the absolute cheapest Ryder will go, 21k (it was originally 28k), plus a 16 months engine/rear/tranny warranty for $1,500, excluding delivery, it will all come out less than 25k.

It was leased to Cocacola making local deliveries.
My cousin had it go through the dino run, and had it looked at, and said its completely clean and ready to go.
    What do you guys think?

I have a question regarding the Engine, its a ISM'02 cummins, I dont understand what that means ecxacly, but I'm just assuming the 02 stands for the year... and the EGR started in late 03-early 04, I'm just wondering if the engine has EGR, or did I get a pre-EGR truck, in which case I might sell my 07 8600 truck... I now have 3 trucks, so i might have to sell one, the 97 Volvo wont sell for sh** and I'm now kinda tight on money after buying this truck. I like the idea of having a pre EGR, plus it comes with a 16 months warranty.

What do you guys think? and whats your opinion on the truck?

Its to haul less than 30k of refrigirated produce from PA to upstate NY

    If you've already bought it, it doesn't really matter, but I would have asked a couple of questions first;
Did they give you a copy of the dyno report?
Did they give you a copy of the ECM printout?
This print out will tell you engine hrs as well as milage, local cocacola deliveries = a lot of idle time
I'm just guessing here but I think the "ISM'02 Cummins" should read "ISM tier II Cummins"
Again just guessing but I think the 330/1800 should say 330@1800
As long as the truck is titled as an '04 it has to have '04 emissions to be compliant.
If they replaced the '04 motor with an '02 you would have to ask why are they replacing a motor with only 70,000 mi on it.
If you can keep your axel weights legal with a single axel then it probably a good deal for your application.

The trucks miles are original, NOT a new motor.
I know nothing about mechanics, so no I did not see the dino nor the ECM report, I just took his word for it.
He did not tell me the exact hours, but he did mentioned it was equivalent to a truck that usually has 175k miles... which is also very low, I think.

You are very limited in what you can do with that truck, but if you have an application where it will do the job, good. It would have to be in perfect shape for me to give that much for it, even if I had a job for a small truck.I have seen some of Ryders equipment, mostly very plain stuff, and was not impressed by the shape it was in. Just seems a little high.
