What do you like about trucking?

Do the colleges have there own trucks..

 

Personally I would just go for the company schooling if I were in your current position. You can get going for no money upfront and start making money right away. Yes you have to sign a contract with a company but I would rather do that then sign a contract with the government or a bank. Plus as long as you pass your tests you have a job. The biggest difference would be home time. If you go to a community college or something nearby then you will be home every day. Would cost you $6000 but you would be home. If you go through a company you will be gone for the length of school then training. Not really that bad and you would have to get used to being gone from home anyway.

This is only my opinion and my experience. It is worth what you have paid.
I went with Swift and used their training. Perfect? No. But I have yet to have an issue that makes me regret my choice. Many different experiences from many different people. I too came from a business background and just used the same tools that I used making decisions in my former career. Gather information, weigh out the pros and cons, make a decision and just hope I was right...
