Without some podcasts and youtube audio the voices in my head start turning eventually and then it's all listening to little loops that I have self-titled:

    "I can't drive 55, but I should it's CA" By the CHIPS
"You can't back for #### son, don't even try it" By the flyin J's
"Sleepless in Seattle" By the on-ramper's
    "I won't back down" By the Governer's
"6 hours ain't enuf" by Nikki Sixx

I've accepted a job with a company that has a strict ban on Cell Phones within arms reach. Previously, I used my phone to play Audible books, Pandora, or pre-downloaded YouTube videos. The YouTube was just for the audio portion like Ted Talks or educational lectures, I didn't watch it.

I'm not sure if the gadget ban applies to everything not Hands Free including MP3 players.

I wondered if anyone has worked around something like this. I suppose I could get a super long Aux Audio cable and leave it connected to my tablet in the bunk just running the same Pandora channel for hours. Or get out and stretch at every Rest Area so I can change my audio entertainment or start an Audiobook.

Well that just sucks. My main source of music is from my Iphone and frequently have to hit play as I lose signal now and then

I presume they augment this ridiculous policy with driver-facing camera? Then they certainly expect you to make your own entertainment....

You have to say “Hell no” to places like this. You’re an individual human being. Not a machine they own.

I set what to listen to when parked. Then I can control my music/podcast using the truck radio via Bluetooth

The solution to the problem is google assistant. You can navigate. Play podcasts and youtube and much more.. All with your voice. The phone only needs to be on somewhere in the cab and synced with the radio via bluetooth... If no bt radio just get a small bt speaker. Works like magic for phone calls too. Set the phone to autoanswer and you dont even need a headset.

Thanks I'll look into this over the weekend. I already have a head set.

I have used it to ask Google for weather conditions in cities I'm heading towards. Maybe I can look into this more to setup more things.
