Agreed but it was "more watchable" then in it's time. I used to love Emergency when it was in prime time but can hardly watch it today. Sometimes I can watch some CHiP's if I'm in the mood.

What gets my goat is the farm radio sometimes late at night on the plains far from any city.

So much this bushel, so much that cattle so much this peck... Think about it a few minutes while they expound on the one inch of water that fell today. yeesh. Bless them for what they grow to our food table, but man....

Now Emergency was something watching it today. As a kid knowing nothing at all... quite different.

Then again to see that solid state medical equiptment hooked up to patients with 4 gauge stranded wire.. ugh....

Satellite radio, or my iPod. I have an old school 160gb disc drive with 8000 tracks and room for 10000 more. Nearly 7000 songs plus the complete collection of Dragnet, Gunsmoke, Texas Rangers and Pat Novac old time radio shows. I also have several hundred karaoke tracks and sing as I drive. And yes, I really can sing.

    “Feeders fell this month”

“Due to drought corn is at an all time high”

    So on and so forth.

What really cracks me up is how they put everyone’s business out there.

“Gerald Allen got his 4th dui last night, he was released on bail and is due for court on the second.”

“Mary Beth was taken in last night on a bench warrant for failure to pay parking tickets”

“Tim Pritchard was arrested for speeding and possession of a controlled substance which was 3 grams of heroin.”

    They just don’t give a #### lol.

BJ and the Bear was pretty hoaky. Monkey's are disgusting creatures. It did have my home town on the door, Milwaukee. Other lame trucker shows were, "Big trouble in Little China", and of course, the dumbest of all time, "Maximum Overdrive". I guess "Convoy" was ok. I'm a big fan of the Jack Webb 3, Dragnet, Adam-12, and Emergency, although, they got dumber as they went along. I like the car and truck spotting from L.A. in the '70's.

Rarely listen to the CB because most of the time I can't understand WTF people are saying with all the echo box and distorted mike noise..

Duel was Spielbergs first movie , Dennis weaver stalked by a psycho trucker .
First one I remember in a long list of psycho trucker movies .
I guess when you look back at the transformation from knights of the road to what we are perceived to be now , you got to put that movie on the list
