like the Kenworth T700, Peterbilt 587, Freightliner Cascadia vs Kenworth W900, Peterbilt 379, Freightliner FLD. What would you call the Kenworth T800?

The aero trucks are obviously the way of the future, but the long hood trucks are iconic in this industry. I am glad to see that the manufacturers are still producing the classic style truck. Personally, I would choose a long hood truck if I had to spend my own money.

Having driven both, I don't care for the lack of visibility directly in front of me with the hood. I like looking at them tho!

Is having triangular headlights really going to give you better mpg?

i mean s--t even the new lawn tractors have this so i think it's more of a trendy thing than for real practical benefit.

What WILL help to deliver better mpg is a smaller grill.

So, i would have to say that i like the aero/modern conventionals for the right reasons----better mpg IF actually better, not styled a certain way to be trendy, just because it is the new thing. And better visability.

Conversely, i don't like the whole " i gotta drive a pete or kw because i'm a big macho man" crap.

i do like the w900b and 378/9 short hoods though.

I think the T700 is styled like a Volvo! But it is better than the T2000 it replaces.

the longer hood trucks generally ride a little better because they are stretched a little more. i still get a little leary of the short wheelbase trucks in heavy snow and or ice as well, from exp. i believe the longer framed trucks are a lot more stable in those situations.

However i do drive a 387 pete which looks like a bubble but has an amazing amount of space inside the cab and sleeper.

I'm driving a Volvo. It turns tight, has lots of storage space... I'm pretty happy with it.

I drive day cabs so don't quote me on this, but the western star I'm driving now has the ROOMIEST cab I've ever been in. Im 6 foot tall and I could quite possibly stretch clean out laying across the seats!
