Didn't really know where to put this so hope I don't get into trouble..Lol....
I was coming down I69 from ft. wayne today and its was raining pretty good. There was a PRIME truck pulling a tanker in the right lane and a SWIFT truck behind him (pretty darn scary I know) lol. As I got closer to passing; the SWIFT driver came over to pass the PRIME truck. I was stuck following for about 7 miles. The race between the two trucks was on.
Which one do you think won?
Well it was swift. I just don't understand why drivers have to pass if it is going to take you 7 miles to do so. Sorry just venting a bit.
What do You think?????

That's everyday trucking anymore. If someone drag raced me, I would let up on the throttle and 3 seconds is was over with. Seems like the best solution.
On the other end, I would wait for a hill because I knew I could out pull them.
They should make a cruise control that worked on distance instead of speed. That way you could easily follow someone.
Lol @ Winchester! -

Elephant races. Ugh.
Honestly, while the tendency might be to rail against the passer, I think it's the passee's responsibility to yield a little speed and end the suffering of all involved.
If I'm about to get creeper passed, I wait for the passer to make his move, then I dump two clicks off my cruise, and voila! 15 seconds later everybody's happy.
EDIT: One of my favorite things about my current company is that they've spec'd all of their trucks for 65 on the cruise and 68 on the pedal, so when I'm going to be the creeper, I can just grab those 3mph for a few seconds and pull off the pass, no pain.Rollover the Original Thanks this.
