When I was younger I lived next door to a guy that owned a small trucking trucking company. When Iwas 20 I talked to him about driving and he said come back when im 21 and he could get me started. After I turned 21 i got busy and didnt do it. The other day I stopped by their house and ask if they are still running trucks. They are and might need a driver soon. They have 5 trucks and pay 26% of what the load pays. In my long winded thing, my question is....is 26% good. She said that alot of their runs are from arlington va out to cali and they are still getting good miles and loads. Plus I know them fairly well and used to run around with their granddaughter in my younger days. Seems like a pretty good deal.

TMC starts at 23% but goes up to around 32%. You're in the ballpark if the miles are there. 30% would be better of course. But with anything, a percentage is meaningless unless you know how much it's a percentage OF.

Thats not bad, I paid my driver 25%, but I was nice, and paid him 25% of linehaul, and 25% of Fuel Surcharge, What ever the truck made, he made a quarter of it. He grossed in between 1200-1500 a week, but ran his butt off from Long beach to jacksonville and back.
