Doesn't really help them understand when every other truck is tailgating the vehicle in front of it..
What do you wish 4-wheelers knew?

The only thing I want is for them to stay as far as possible away from me. All the other problems go away with this one step.

1."Objects are closer than they appear." I can not count how many times a day I have a near miss when the 4 wheeler cuts me off.
2. The speed up to get in front of me only to slam on the brakes to hit the exit.
3. Wait until I am on top of them and then pull out in front of me. Travel one block slam on the brakes and turn off to the right, when there is NOTHING behind me.
4. But I think the worst is in heavy traffic and I leave a safety cushion in front and everybody thinks that empty space belongs to them. No matter how short it is.91B20H8 Thanks this. -
Get in a truck for a week, bring plenty of paper and pencils, try to imagine what these people are thinking when they do the things they do. Personally I feel they think of truckers as low men on the totem pole. They seem to always think they have the right of way over a truck. Trucks are always in their way. I've been told I'm number one more times than I care to remember. I'm just trying to get my day in because it's my profession, and it is a profession. Oh, by the way, I would suggest riding with someone in the New York City area, preferably Brooklyn on the BQE. Please give us a comeback while your doing your research. We would love to see what you've found out. I'm sure most of us will say, been there, done that. Not to mention have a lot of laughs. Best of luck. I'll be waiting.

I wish truck drivers knew as much as they expect 4 wheelers to know.
marineman227, icsheeple, Naptown and 3 others Thank this. -
I wish they knew that when an oversize load puts his left signal light on, it means he needs to get over because there is no shoulder. It does NOT mean he wants you to pass
